Oshima
About Oshima
A Japanese restaurant and sushi bar on East 10th Street in downtown Sioux Falls, open six days a week for lunch and dinner.
The room
Dark wood, warm walls, paper lanterns, and a navy noren hanging on the back wall with a Daruma printed on it. There are tables rather than a long counter, so it works for two people at lunch and for six on a Friday night.
It is a block east of Phillips Avenue, which means you can park once and walk to it. We are open Monday to Saturday, and closed on Sundays.
No reservations. Come in when we are open and we will find you a table, or order ahead and collect it from the till.

What we cook
The sushi bar
Twenty three kinds of nigiri and sashimi by the pair, from tamago at $3.95 to ama ebi at $8.95. Fifteen regular rolls, sixteen fresh rolls, and twenty three chef’s rolls that take rather longer.
The hot kitchen
Ramen and udon, yakisoba and yaki udon, fried rice, chicken and pork katsu, sesame chicken, garlic soy short ribs, and a teriyaki plate with chicken, beef and a shrimp skewer on it.
Gluten free, properly
A separate menu with its own chef’s rolls on it, not a shortened version of the main one. Twenty four dishes, priced the same as everything else.
